However, DENKBAR is more than just a place: the heart beating inside of her consists of a program rich in contrasts with lectures, readings, workshops, art exhibitions and concerts. And in addition a beautiful garden the kind of which one would not expect in the middle of the city. DENKBAR is a place of philosophical exchange, not in the scientific sense, rather in the above-disciplinary universal sense. DENKBAR promotes the philosophical dialogue. Philosophy - for us it is the adventure of reason, spirit and life. We are concerned with the philosophical essence that is hidden in the subjects which occupy our minds and move us. That is why at our place you meet philosophers, psychoanalysts, sociologists, anthropologists, literary and art experts, writers and academics of all disciplines. We look for lively speech and stimulating conversation. The founders and initiators: Tamar Schubert and Christian Hellweg provide the cosmopolitan atmosphere in the DENKBAR. Together with intellectuals, writers and artists they create the interdisciplinary and varied schedule of events. The goal is to create with the DENKBAR a place, where philosophy, literature, art and science merge into an event of dialogue and communication.
